October 10, 2000 - In Thanks and Praise to God for His every present help. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17) In the beginning God created man and said he was very good. Man had the privilege of talking face to face with God and of being sin free. It is in this state, of being sin free, that we will be saved. This is why when we come to Jesus for forgiveness, and He washes us with His blood, and says "Go and sin no more." When you become a Christian you are baptized "into Jesus Christ" and the new life YOU LIVE henceforth is CENTERED IN CHRIST. YOU are joined to Christ and become subject completely to His life, power, influence, and word. Your entire person should now move in a new spiritual sphere with nothing excluded. Living as Jesus lived because it is He who lives in you. This new nature is not the product of moral virtue presumed by some to be inherent in man, because there are thousands of so-called moral men who make no profession of being Christians. It is not merely the product of a desire, or even of a resolution, to do right, or mental assent to certain doctrines, or an exchange of one set of opinions or feelings for another, or even of sorrow from sin. It is the result of the presence of a supernatural element introduced into you, which results in your dying to sin and being born again. Thus you are created "anew", like Adam was, in the likeness of Christ, adopted as a son or daughter of God, and set on a new path. And now you are made partaker of the divine nature and are granted possession of eternal life. Remember that Christ is our example as well as our savior. Thou He came as a child and grew in wisdom and knowledge, He was perfect and sin free all His life. So you and I ought to be as a new child in God, growing in His grace and sin free as Christ was. Don't take my word for it. October 11, 2000 - This poem was emailed to her from a friend. Enjoy!
I told him my name, and he began to look. Then he looked at me sadly and said, Your name is not in this book.
Angel, this is a dream. No I can't be dead! He closed the book, turned away and He whispered You can not proceed ahead.
No…no this can't be real. Angel, you can't turn me away. Let me talk to God, maybe he'll let me stay.
He led me to the gate and Jesus came to me. He did not let me in but said Beloved what is your need?
Jesus, I cried, please don't case me away for you. Tears ran down his face as He said, You knew what you needed to do.
Lord, please I'm young, I never thought I would die. I thought I'd have plenty of time, death caught me by surprise.
Lord, I went to church, please Jesus, I believe. He said you would not accept me, my love you would not receive.
Lord there were too many hypocrites they weren't being true. He took a step back and said, What does that have to do with you?
Lord, my family claimed to be saved, they weren't real. You know! He said, I died for you, now I have to go.
I fell to my knees crying to Him, Lord I planned to be real tomorrow. I couldn't, make Him understand that I had never-felt such sorrow.
Then it hit me hard, I said, Lord, where will I go? He looked into my eyes and said, My child you already know.
Please Jesus, I begged, the place is so hot. It seemed to trouble and grieve him. But He whispered, DEPART FROM ME, I KNOW YOU NOT.
Lord, you're supposed to be love, How can you send me to damnation? He replied, with your mouth you said you loved me, But each day you rejected my salvation.
With that in an instant, day turned into night. I never knew such torture could be, now too late, I know the Bible is right.
If I and tell you anything, Hell has no age. It is a place of torture, separated from God and full of rage.
You know, I though it was funny, a joke, but this one thing is true. If you never accept Jesus Christ, HELL IS WAITING FOR YOU!
So please ask Him into your heart today before it is to late. Jesus says, He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. October 12, 2000 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. (Proverbs 3:5) Happy and strong and brave shall we be--able to endure all things, and to do all things--if we believe that every day, every hour, every moment of our life is in God's hands. -- Henry van Dyke in The Upward Path Entire trust in God is the only logical position for Christians to take. God has all knowledge and all power, and foresees and prepares against all the troubles that come upon man as sudden emergencies. For anyone to rely on his own understanding under such circumstances is foolish indeed. It is also folly to alternate between trust in self and trust in God. To place little confidence in one’s own understanding does not mean that a man must lay aside intelligence and give up the power of choice. Intelligence is needed to determine from the Word of God and from God’s guiding providences what is the divine will. A will strengthened and cleansed by God is needed if one is to follow a true course through to the end. Walk with the Lord today and be a blessing to someone else. Don't take my word for it. (Psalms 37:5) A famous tightrope walker once strung a cable across Niagara Falls from the American side all the way to the Canadian side. To the applause of thousands of people, he would walk across that tightrope right on the very edge of the falls, the rushing, cascading waters thundering underneath him. He would walk back and forth, people applauding wildly. Then to further wow the crowds, he would put a blindfold on and go back and forth. Then he would ride a bicycle back and forth, and then he would push a wheelbarrow back and forth. Every day, people came out to watch him. He quite simply was the greatest. As the story goes, one day while pushing the wheelbarrow back and forth, he called out to the crowd on one end, inquiring whether or not they thought he could successfully push the wheelbarrow across with a human being riding in the wheelbarrow. The crowd went berserk: "Surely you can. You're remarkable. We've watched you for days. We understand and appreciate your skills. We believe in your abilities. You are the greatest." On and on they went, to which he responded, "Then someone volunteer. You come right up here, single file, form a line, and get in the wheelbarrow to prove your trust in my ability." A deafening silence overtook the crowd. There were no takers. Is our trust in God the same? Are we wowed by the mighty deeds that He has done, but don't believe He can do it in our lives? Do we see Jesus only as our Saviour, who died for us, but not as our director, the one who directs each step of our lives? Friends, trust in the Lord, and surrender yourselves to Him completely. Walk with the Lord today and be a blessing to someone else. Don't take my word for it. See for yourself: Romans 6:23; Psalms 37:5; Proverbs 3:5 Maranatha - The Lord Is Coming!
