This African American holiday was designed to bring the family, community and culture to the forefront and to encourage self-pride and self-determination. However, could there be something that the Christian must be aware of? Could there be a trap that threatens to ensnare and entangle the unaware Christian? Let's find out!

On the surface, Kwanzaa has great ideals and, if kept in focus, can serve a great purpose. When we think about it, who couldn't benefit from the five fundamental principles: ingathering, reverence, commemoration, recommitment and celebration. However, there are things that one must consider when dealing with Kwanzaa, and we must not forget the founder's word, "Kwanzaa is not a religious holiday."
