God has promised that one day we will be like Him again. Adam was created "in the image of God" (Gen. 1:27), but he sinned, that divine image was lost. Christ came "to seek and to save that which was lost" (Luke 19:10). All those who accept Jesus Christ and walk in His way, can look forward to having that divine image restored (see on 2 Cor. 3:18; Heb. 3:14). This transformation begins at the new birth and continues until Christ’s appearing (see on 1 John 3:2). But for today, He has given us a way to share in His divine nature now. Scriptures says, "Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust," (2 Peter 1:4).
