Isaiah 14:13, 14 "For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into
heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon
the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above
the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High."
-
Ezekiel 28:17 "Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast
corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the
ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee."
Did God make him? - NO, HE MADE LUCIFER
-
Ezekiel 28:15 "Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou
wast created, till iniquity was found in thee."
God made a perfect
angel who, of his own free will, decided to be rebellious and become the
devil. The Bible described Lucifer before the fall as perfect and as the most
glorious of all of God's created creatures. Next to God, there was no other
creature higher than Lucifer. His name suggest his rank in heaven, "Lucifer"
meaning light bearer. It was his function to carry the light of God's word. It
was his beauty and rank that caused him to sin and move away from God. He felt
that since he was so high, he should get worship. Because he had a free will,
God allowed him to carry out his rebellion for several reasons. First, to
settle the issues if God forces His creatures to obey Him. Second, to prevent
and stop any doubt that God's wasn't fare, but rather willing for all to come into
repentance. Finally, God wanted all to worship out of love and free will.
What was the fate of Lucifer's rebellion in heaven? - EXPULSION
-
Revelation 12:7, 8 "And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels
fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed
not; neither was their place found any more in heaven."
-
Revelation 12:9 "And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent,
called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out
into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him."
We
should rejoice to know that Satan wasn't victorious in heaven.
What two deadly animals does the Bible use to portray Satan?
-
1 Peter 5:8 "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a
roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour."
-
Revelation 12:9 "And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent,
called the Devil."
These animals
both use stealth and diversion to capture their prey. Like the devil, they
spring suddenly upon their victims and are ruthless and indifferent to
suffering.
