Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. (Matthew 5:13)

The attitude of buying today and paying tomorrow isn't just for the world anymore. The Christian society has adopted the same principle even though it is diametrically opposite to the plan of God.

In the Old Testament Samson had to travel to the Philistines camp. There he found the things of the world and got involved with Delilah. He joined himself with her and the rest as they say, is history. But today however, the Philistines camp is in our homes. We have adopted their customs and taken wives from them. We turn on our television and love their world and enjoy their music on the radio and in our churches, nevertheless we still look for the blessing from God.

As a result, Christians who claim to take the Bible as their rule of faith, find themselves in the same situations as their worldly counterparts.

God's plan didn't include for His people being in debt, rather His vision was for them to lenders; for He knew the borrower would be the servant of the lender (see Pro. 22:7). However, being all knowing, He knew that His people, because of their unbelief, would borrow, but even their He set a principle for His people.
